About Thornton's Holt Camping Park

Thornton's Holt accomodates tents, caravans and motorhomes on 155 spacious pitches on 14 acres of landscaped grassland.

We have 120 electric hook ups and our pitches are available as grass or double width hardstandings.

There are washroom facilities, an indoor heated swimming pool, a childrens play area, washing up areas, a laundry, ice blocks freezer, and a small shop on site.

Most importantly we have plenty of fresh air and space for the children to run round - bikes are welcome.

Just over the road is The Shepherds Pub & Carvery, and also the bus stop with a frequent service to West Bridgford, Nottingham & Cotgrave.  The local villages of Cotgrave and Radcliffe on Trent have a good selection of small supermarkets, bakeries, and takeaways of every description!

Bring your pets

Your family pets are welcome to join you at Thornton's Holt.  Please remember to keep your dog on a lead.

Thornton's Holt is home to a resident family of animals including our three cats Bobbles, Perkins & Sprocket, our fabulous terrier Pickle, the two horses Spike & Spartacus, and our mystery cat Ditch.  We usually have too many chickens to count!

Local Walks & Cycling

Within walking distance is Cotgrave Country Park.  This former colliery site has been extensively re-developed with good access tracks suitable for walking, cycling and pushchairs.  It's a great place to tire out the children or for walking dogs.  The Grantham Canal passes thorough the park and continues on into the Vale of Belvoir.

The National Watersports Centre is under a mile from Thornton's Holt.  It host regular watersports events and is a good place for walking and cycling.

Local Attractions

Sherwood Forest Vistor Centre is just north of Nottingham, about 20-25 minutes drive from Thornton's Holt.  The forest is a great place for walking and cycling.

GO APE is at the Sherwood Pines Forest Park. This is a high wire adventure trail through the trees.  A challenge for teenagers and brave adults!

Younger children enjoy The White Post Farm Park and Ferry Farm Park.  Twin Lakes and Wheelgate are popular local theme parks for younger children.

For those seeking a quieter time you may like Belvoir Castle or Newstead Abbey.  If you would just like a nice coffee and a big slice of cake in a beautiful village location try Colston Basset Stores.

Us & Our Lovely Staff...

Thornton's Holt is a privately owned and run Camping Park and we are proud of our unique friendly and farm like atmosphere.  Our staff all live locally. Here are some of our Staff members enjoying a ride on the refurbished Rocking Horse.

Sometimes in the summer we get very busy on the telephone.  This is because we haven't out sourced our calls to India.  Please be patient, leave a message on the machine and staff will call you back as soon as they can!
